Maspeth Tattoo was started by Queens tattoo artist Daniel Russo after years of working around New York and seeing how much the atmosphere of a shop shapes the experience. Daniel grew up close to Maspeth and spent his early years drawing everything from subway scenes and storefront lettering to portraits of family members. After learning the trade and working alongside artists with very different styles, he wanted to build a studio that felt professional without feeling distant.
That idea still guides the shop. Daniel works alongside tattoo artists Maya Ortiz and Evan Kim, each bringing a different eye to the table. The team believes good tattooing starts with listening, continues with careful design decisions and does not end when the appointment is over. Clients should understand what is happening, why certain choices matter and how to care for their tattoo afterward.
